Dolphins and Coffee
There I was sitting by the window in the living room and I looked out to the harbour, just past the harbour wall, I saw the dolphins cruising by. As I sat and had my coffee, snug and cosy with the wood burner going and some nice music on the stereo, what more could I ask for but to watch the dolphins. WOW.... it was a real wow moment, they then spent 15 minutes a little further out, cruiing up and down, I reckon they were feeding .. WOW

White Horses
Wow... it was a bit breezy today, the sea was alive with white wave crests. I checked XC weather and the wind was up to 36 miles an hour at Dalcross, which we look straight over to. Amazing watching a yacht tacking up the Moray Firth. What a day to be out on a wind surfer.
In the harbour the ducks stayed up towards the shore, they weren't going anywhere today.
It was great to sit with a cup of coffee and watch the squalls coming in across the Firth, at one point there was a lovely rainbow and the sun glinted off birds as they hung in the wind ready to dive

Otter spotted
Two mornings this week I have been up early. The tide had been out and there was an otter playing in the mouth of the harbour. It was great to watch. It caught a fish and clung to the harbour wall as it ate it, this was a bit complex as it needed a hand to keep hold of the wall and one of the fish. There was a bit of a comedy show and fiinally it worked it out. What a great way to start the day. I was late for work both days, I just couldn't pull myself away from watching the Otter

Sadly the whale has died
A whale which became beached in shallow water on a shoreline near Inverness has died, coastguards have confirmed.
The 40ft adult male sperm whale was first spotted swimming in the Inner Moray Firth earlier in the week.
It spent much of Monday moving in circles before becoming stranded in six feet of water at Alturlie, near Fort George, on Tuesday

WHALE in Avoch Bay
Fears for large whale lost in bay
Boats monitoring the sperm whale in Avoch Bay
A large adult sperm whale which entered a bay in the Highlands could be suffering health problems, according to an expert.
The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (WDCS) has been monitoring the mammal. It has been swimming in circles around Avoch Bay, at the Black Isle.
Local officer Charlie Phillips told the BBC Scotland News website the whale swam under the boat he was on.
He said: "We got a good idea then what size it is - it must be about 45ft."
Conservationists hope it will be able to leave the bay and return to the Inner Moray Firth and, eventually, deeper waters.
A second whale was thought to have made out it to the firth.
Mr Phillips said: "The sperm whale does not look well and is going round in circles.
"It is a big adult male. We don't see many of them, it is usually females that we see in the Moray Firth."
British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) have also been notified.
BDMLR said said there was little they could do if it strands on the beach.
